Martin received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern Law School where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.  During law school, Martin served as a Lead Articles Editor for the Southwestern Law Review, a Constitutional Law Research Assistant, a Property Law Teaching Assistant, a Dean’s Fellow, and a Volunteer Peer Mentor in addition to receiving numerous CALI, Witkin, and Best Brief Finalist awards.  Martin also held multiple internships and clerkships at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, a copyright infringement law firm, a real property law firm, an employment law firm, and a heavy-hitting personal injury law firm prosecuting mass torts, including the Aliso Canyon gas blowout against a large utility company resulting in a settlement of up to $1.8 Billion.  Martin also volunteered at the Los Angeles Family Law Help Center providing legal assistance to clients with limited means and at the Los Angeles Public Library Adult Literacy Program.

Prior to joining Ongaro PC’s employment team, Martin spent over fives years in practice at a national defense firm representing clients in numerous practice areas, including employment, wage/hour, professional liability, business disputes, and premises liability.  Through his advocacy, Martin was successful in obtaining numerous dismissals of frivolous claims against his clients and achieving aggressive settlements for potentially problematic claims while keeping in perspective the needs and realities of each individual client.  Understanding the value of proactively mitigating risks before they arise, Martin has also advised numerous businesses in best employment practices.
